DESCRIPTION:
Very unusual large fruit. Red over yellow background, the skin has a hard leathery feel, opens to reveal segmented areas with shiny red seeds covered in sweet red thick juice.

COMMENTS:
Used for fresh fruit and juices and becoming more popular in cooking. Pomegranates are very rich in antioxidants, iron and vitamins A, C and E. A small growing tree to approx. 3m, with attractive autumn color, and large red flowers in late Spring, suitable to grow in temperate to hot climates.
TREE CARE:
Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
