Weeping Maple
Slow to moderate.
Soft-foliaged, purple-brown leaf form that turns to green as the season progresses, then to subtle reds, oranges and yellows in autumn giving a wonderful seasonal display.
Young stems are an attractive purple, aging to grey tinged purple.
Warm temperate to cool temperate. Prefers a site that is protected from hot winds.
Rarely formed.
A mushroom shaped, mounded small tree with strongly weeping branches that give a cascade effect.
Small tree, but eventual size is dependent in part on the height of the ‘standard’.
Insignificant reddish flowers in early spring. Rarely seen.
Young trees will benefit from formative pruning.
