DESCRIPTION:

 This is a vigorous growing plant producing an abundance of black berries on a thornless plant. They are sweet when fully ripe, and can be a bit tart if picked too early or if still showing red.

MATURITY:

Late January to early February and may also have a smaller crop in April.

SUGGESTED POLLINATORS: 

Self pollinating

 COMMENTS:

 Suitable for fresh fruit, or used in jams, pies, preserves and ice cream. Rich in vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants. New canes produce season’s fruit.

 

TREE CARE:

 

Plant in a well drained sunny position with well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until vine is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears in Spring. Suitable to plant on a trellis or fence for support.
