FEATURES:
A frost hardy, vigorous deciduous shrub with deep-purple red buds that open to mildly fragrant reddish-purple cup shaped flowers outside and white within. Large green leaves appear after flowering.

COMMENTS:
Plant in a sunny position with good drainage and shelter from wind, so that the flowers are not damaged. Fertilize and prune to shape after flowering if required. Frost tolerant.
TREE CARE:
Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
