One of the best crab apples for autumn foliage colour. This strong, narrow growing, upright tree is ideal for planting in public areas where lateral space is restricted. An adaptable, tough small tree with excellent upright, narrow form and stunning autumn colour.

Dark green broadly ovate leaves with a grey, felty underside. The new growth is silvery-green and the autumn colour is a very attractive purplish-orange to yellow.
Greyish-brown. Shiny, becoming scaly.
Fairly sparse, brownish-yellow fruits up to 25 mm in diameter (if formed). Rare.
Narrowly oval to pyramidal. Upright and open.
White flowers with a slight pink tinge in umbels of four to six. Not showy. Rarely observed in Australia.
