PYRUS salicifolia (Weeping Ornamental Pear)

DESCRIPTION:

 A very pretty weeping tree grafted onto a standard. Silvery green foliage, on pendulous branching, with pretty single white blossom featuring tiny red stamens. The flowers grow in clusters during Spring and are then followed by small green inedible fruit.

 5 metres x 4 metres

 SHAPE:

 Pendulous branching.

 FOLIAGE:

 Silvery green foliage.

 FLOWERS:

 Single white blossom with tiny red stamen, followed by small green inedible fruit.

 COMMENTS:

Provide a firm stake for support. During dormancy, prune to an outward pointing bud.

 TREE CARE:

 Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
