FEATURES:
Known as the English Oak, this is a large spreading tree, with a low-branching canopy growing to a height of 20 metres. New foliage is bright green turning darker and shiny as it matures. Foliage turns brown in Autumn. Deeply fissured dark grey bark is also a feature. The acorns appear during the Summer months.

COMMENTS:
Stately specimen tree for parks and large gardens. Prefers a cooler climate and is tolerant of most soil conditions. The root system can be invasive.
TREE CARE:
Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
